Yesterday Hope came up with the concept that we just HAD to make a trap to catch the leprechaun that was coming on St. Patty's day. Well...Craig and Hope worked on it-making a box trap and then creating some "bait" (a colored pot of gold). The trap was set up to fall on him when he tried to steal the gold. When we got up this morning, our trap had fallen on something. Hope was afraid to look under the trap, so I lifted the edge and she saw that there was NOT a leprechaun under there, but some of his gold and treats he left.
Hope has had a few theories of what he did while he was in the house: "he must have gotten trapped and left his goodies when he snuck out the back of the trap-but he didn't get our gold; I found a pink feather in the playroom and a cowboy hat in Hunter's room and my lip stick in the living room-he must have played dress up during the night!" What an imagination our little girl has...Happy St. Patty's day!
Here is Hope and Craig setting the trap.

The bait to lure him in...
Oh man! No leprechaun, but we got his treats!
