We have really enjoyed the fall! We have been able to go to the Greenville Zoo, Denver Downs (pumpkin patch), rock wall climbing, and Elmo. Amongst the kids and I seeing lots of creatures-animals and monsters, Craig has come across some of his own creatures.
Hunting season is upon us-which means Craig spends lots of time in the woods. One day, in particular, Craig was walking in the woods and came across 2 snakes. That is not so much a big ordeal, I mean, they do belong in the woods. However, when he got home and was doing his thing, he heard Dutch barking like crazy. Well, he goes out to check on what was going on and he sees that Dutch has cornered a beaver. Let me say this…that beaver gave Dutch a run for his money. Craig calls Dutch off-who has blood on his face and nose and a good gash on his ear- and has to coax the beaver out of our fence (yeah, we really aren’t sure how he got in there in the first place. Well, Craig walks around the house and comes across a huge snake. I mean HUGE! When he held it up, at the height of his head, the snake would be touching the ground. He calls to tell me and it, of course, freaks me out! I mean, hellloooo….a huge snake! I get home from work and he feels the need to show me this snake. Yep-still huge and yucky! Do you think it bothered the kids? No way! They felt the need to touch it and giggle like crazy. Who ARE these kids?!

The kids and I got the opportunity to join some friends for a day trip to the zoo. It was the PERFECT day-blue skies, nice weather, what more could one ask for? The kids had a blast looking at the animals and running through the park.
Hope was invited to a rock wall climbing birthday party. She really did well and climbed past “the yellow line”. Not sure how high that was, but it was her goal to get higher than that line. I was very proud of how brave she was. I knew she was scared, but she didn’t give up and she kept trying over and over. It was killing Hunter to not climb (age limit was 4), but he enjoyed running and diving-literally diving-onto the padded floors. I have a feeling that he would have climbed to the top, had we allowed him.

The family got to go and pick out “the perfect pumpkin” at Denver Downs. There were so many activities for the kids to do while we were there. Some of the favorites were the culvert tunnel slide-Hunter’s fav and the rope swing in the barn-Hope’s fav. As a whole, we enjoyed the hayride, selecting that “perfect pumpkin” and getting lost in the corn maze. Hope was our leader and told us where to go. Hunter was on Craig’s shoulders and thought it would be fun to cover daddy’s eyes while we “lead” him through the path be giving verbal directions. Did I mention that Hope still sometimes mixes up her left and right? Or that when she says to go straight, she means that she is straight ahead of you…just past all the corn stalks? Haha! It was fun and we had a good time.

We surprised the kids with a trip to see Elmo. They were super excited-until all the monsters came out on stage-it freaked Hunter out and all I could think of was "get a picture"-thank goodness Jess was able to capture that moment. It didn't take him long and we was enjoying himself and dancing around.
