February, already?!

It is hard to believe that it is already February. And that means one thing...ok, maybe two...but in our house it means one.....Hope's 6th birthday party! My children take pride in planning way in advance their birthday "themes". I think Hope has the next 3 years planned out. This year is going to be a blast and the possibilities are endless! When we finally settled on a theme, last fall, my mind started racing...it is almost as if since I am not in a classroom and can't do this fun, creative stuff with student, I try to do it with Hope and Hunter's birthday parties. So...the theme....a carnival!

We are super excited about what we have planned so far, however there is one thing that looms over my head....the last time I planned something big=outdoors and at camp-it didn't turn out quite as expected. A hurricane came through and thus our wedding was moved inside. I am really hoping that the weather cooperates because the rain plan is under the pavilion. Which will work for most of the games, but not the bounce house and I think that thing is going to be a hit. Anyway, I am having fun planning all the games and the "popcorn" cupcakes and inviting Hope's friends! This will be her first party with her same age peers that she has! Of course, I planned the party in the middle of "international festival" at Clemson Ele, so that has put a small kink, but it will all work out.

For those who are wondering, Craig is healing fine...he scar is not even exciting...looks like a wrinkle (hardly worth the $14,000 hospital bill we received). His latest adventure is pumping out our flooded basement-8" and it was rising until he got a handle on it (this rain is relentless...thus my fear for the comments at the top of this post).

Hunter and Hope are doing great! Hunter had a little episode of illness and is on breathing treatments until April, but we can handle that and believe me...it doesn't slow him down! How many kids will carry their breathing machine around while their mask is on so he doesn't have to sit in one place?! Hunter enjoys school so much and comes home singing and talking about all the books they are reading at school. Actually, he talks non-stop-seriously...non-stop. And to imagine I was worried about his language? Ha!Hope just got her report card and did great! She needed to work on writing her last name and within 2 days of getting her report card, she has mastered it. Amazing the motivation of a report card (already!). She is also loving reading is working at a "end of kindergarten, beginning of 1st grade level" right now-it is so great to see her proud of herself and enjoy something so much.
